Why I write this blog V2.0 ?

Did you know that in my secret identity, I have been an entrepreneurship consultant for almost seven years?

With this professional experience, I have realized that independent comic creators, like many creatives, lack the tools and business knowledge to get ahead, which is why I have also written this blog! Firsthand I have witnessed the incredible business potential that lies between the pages of graphic narrative. From merchandising and licensing to conventions and digital platforms, comics have spawned a plethora of lucrative ventures for innovative minds to explore.

In this blog, we will unravel the secrets behind the side businesses that thrive within the comics industry. Drawing on my experience in entrepreneurship and my passion for the art of storytelling, I will guide you through the strategies, trends and success stories that define this ever-evolving landscape. And as always, there must also be rules:

1.Only practical advice: This is the most important point. I have been lucky enough to be a consultant for different ventures, the advice and reflections I give here are based on experience. Likewise, I am fortunate to have friends from the comics industry and other creative media, their strategies and different ways of solving problems THAT WORK are those that I take into account.

2.Applicable: Although it may seem redundant, I try with these articles to help you take away ideas and actions that you can immediately apply to your comic project. Whether you're a seasoned entrepreneur looking for fresh inspiration or a comics enthusiast intrigued by the business behind the panels, this blog is your ultimate destination.

Get ready to unleash your entrepreneurial spirit as we embark on an adventure where creativity, commerce and graphic storytelling meet. Welcome to the exciting world of comics entrepreneurship!

Why I am writing this Blog?

I started this blog to be able to recommend those comics that I truly love and that are NOT more than 30 years old.

Friends, family, and normal  people like you always ask me for comic suggestions, and now it's very easy not only to recommend them but also to find and buy them just a couple of clicks away.

But for these recommendations to be REALLY useful to you, and for you not to waste your time and certainly not your money, I have established these three rules.

Rule 1: Comics must be from the year 2000 onwards. There's a ton of amazing material from the last 20 years, and with online purchases, it's quite easy to get them.

Rule 2: These comics have to be the ones I  really love, the kind that makes me message my friends just to tell them to drop everything and read it. It's the level of recommendation of "drop what you're doing". Also, they don't have to be exclusively about superheroes; I'll explore diverse themes while still adhering to the first two rules to make this blog truly useful for you.

Rule 3: There are no bad reviews here. Only the comics that I like will appear on this blog. I'm not here to make you waste your valuable money or time. When I was a child, around seven or eight years old, I remember criticizing an athlete during a sports event. My father looked me in the eyes and asked me, "Can you do better?" That's why there won't be any bad reviews.

The only exception to Rule 1 is books. There has been an increase in literature about comics, and some books are worth checking out. I love reading comics, even if it's not the best for my social life. Along with these reviews, I'll share some thoughts about the world of comics. I hope this blog helps you discover new readings or decide if that comic you're unsure about is worth your time and money. Feel free to write to me at elcomicologo@gmail.com—I'd love to hear your opinion!
